Vyshyvanyi Veresen - Workshops/Demonstrations

Natalka Luciw and Joanna Matika — GERDANY. Bead—Strung Necklaces were traditionally worn with folk costumes in various regions of Ukraine. It is also known as “netting” and is based on Ukrainian folk art.

Oksana Ivanovych — KOROVAI. Ukrainian Wedding Bread with special meaning decorations for wedding ceremony.

Irena Zalucky — PYSANKY. A Ukrainian Easter egg decorated with bold designs using a wax-resist method. The word pysanka comes from the word “pysaty” meaning — to write — primarily with beeswax.

Yuriy Kostiv — RIZBA. Wood Carving. For many centuries Ukrainian people ornately carved wooden objects for uses in homes and churches. But it is the Hutsul region that has been by far the leading center of wood carving in Ukraine.

All workshops will be held in the A.B. Chernyk Gallery 2
